Mock Pariliament

Description

A Model Parliament (also referred to as a Mock Parliament) is a simulation of the parliamentary proceedings of a legislature. It’s a great chance for budding politicians to uproar like a real one.
Do you like to voice your opinion? Are you the one who raise their voice against Prejudices?
So get up and grab the opportunity to speak your heart out!!

Rules & regulations

  • Each team should consist of two members only.
  • Participating Teams should register on the day of event.
  • There is no limit of number of teams from each college.
  • No interchange or replacement of members in teams after registration or during the event.
  • Teams should report ½ hour before start of the event.
  • Any team involved in any kind of misbehavior will be disqualified at any point of time during the event.
  • Decision of coordinators regarding eliminations of teams will be final and will not be subjected to any change.

Details of round

  • First round will be a written test based on general awareness consisting of 30 questions with time duration of 15 minutes.
  • From written round maximum 10 teams will be selected for prelims.
  • In prelims the teams will be divided in to two groups. • Ruling Party. • Opposition Party.
  • There will be a GD round in the prelims between the above two groups.
  • Based on the performance of each team in this round eliminations will be done.
  • From prelims maximum of 3 teams will go on to the pre-finals.
  • The pre-final round consists of two parts. • Proposal round for ruling party. • Agenda round for opposition party.
  • In each of the above round a single member from each team will be given 5minutes to speak on a topic given to them by the coordinators followed by another 5 minutes of argument session.
  • Based on the performance of the member from each team 2 teams will be selected for the final round.
  • In the final round there will be a grueling debate session between the 2 finalists and after this the winner will be declared.
  • The participants will be judged in the pre-final and final round on the following criteria. o Correctness of your argument. o Correlation with the topic. o Originality of argument. o And, also on the basis of the interaction of the participants with the opposition.

Prize:

  • First Prize: 2000 INR
  • Second Prize: 1000 INR
