Summer Training
Presently BPUT doesnot have any scope for summer training in its curriculum. However OEC has made it mandatory for students to complete one summer training in any organization of their choice to get a chance to look into the practical side of what is being taught to them.
The opportunity for Summer Training is provided twice in the span of 4 years.
- After the completion of their 2nd year / 4th semester
- After the completion of their 3rd year / 6th semester
The duration could vary from 30 to 60 days. Students opt for companies like BSNL, OHPC, IOCL, SAIL, FCI, GRIDCO, NALCO, BHEL, HAL NTPC etc.
Pre-Placement Training
All companies which recruit students from various technical institutes look for different technical skills and personality traits before making an offer to the students. In order to sharpen their technical skills and polish their communication skills and make them ready for the corporate world, we offer different training programmes which are tailor-made for each student. These programs aim at preparing the students from a campus point of view. The results of the Pre-Placement Training Programs is evident from the high success rate of our students in different campus interviews.
Other Trainings
The other kinds of Training that we provide are as follows :
Campus Connect
OEC has signed an MoU with Infosys for a unique programme called “Campus Connect”. Campus Connect is an industry- academician partnership initiative, which aims to enhance the education level of engineering students nationwide and thus increase the employability of these engineers. Through this programme, Infosys will help the college in grooming industry ready engineers by sharing its courseware, methodology and education experiences. The first batch of this programme has already passed out successfully. We are currently training the 2nd batch.
English Enhancement Programme
This is a unique programme which is rolled out for the 2nd year students. Its basic objective is to enhance the English speaking capacity of each student. The training is given mainly through discussions, role plays and other interactive modes of communication.
Certifications
OEC has made it compulsory from 2008 passing out batch onwards for each students (in a circuit branch) to have at least one certification before they complete their B.Tech. The certification could be from Oracle, Sun, CISCO or Microsoft.
